Press Release

Date: April 30, 2021
Location: Denver, CO

As part of Colorado's efforts to build back stronger, Governor Jared Polis today visited several small businesses in Thornton, Denver, and Edgewater, and the Community Vaccination Site at the Ball Arena in Denver.

"It's great to get the opportunity to meet local entrepreneurs, small business owners, and of course, taste some delicious food," said Governor Polis. "There is so much to be enjoyed in our state, and I encourage every Coloradan to get vaccinated like I did so that we can experience the best of what our state has to offer safely."

Governor Polis started the day by visiting Patterbar, a whole food energy bar company in Thornton, and The PB Love Co., a peanut butter business based in Denver. Through meeting with the staff, Governor Polis learned more about how this pandemic has impacted the food industry and how the state can continue supporting small food businesses as they grow and serve their communities.

Next, the Governor visited the Denver Tent Company, a Denver-based outdoor equipment company, and Soul Haus, a local clothing and gift store in Denver, in an effort to further understand the challenges and opportunities faced by small businesses in the states. The Governor also enjoyed lunch at Konjo Ethiopian in Edgewater, the first fast-casual Ethiopian restaurant in Colorado.

The Governor finished the day with a visit to the Community Vaccination Site at the Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado's sixth community vaccination site. The site is run in partnership with the healthcare provider TrueCare24 and has been in operation since April 1.
